Anton Plakseychuk, MD, PhD, received his medical degree from Kazan State Medical University in Russia. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency and a joint reconstruction fellowship at UPMC. Dr. Plakseychuk also trained in surgical navigation, robotics, and computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. He is fellowship-trained in hip arthroscopy by M. Philippon, world-renowned hip arthroscopy pioneer. Dr. Plakseychuk also trained and worked with Prof. G. Ilizarov, founder of the eponymous revolutionary limb-lengthening procedure, and has 25 years of clinical and research experience in limb lengthening and correction of skeletal deformities. Dr. Plakseychuk provides comprehensive care for patients with hip and knee disorders. He is an expert in minimally invasive direct anterior total hip arthroplasty and in the treatment of avascular necrosis. Dr. Plakseychuk is an experienced hip resurfacing surgeon and has performed over 600 surgeries. Dr. Plakseychuk has over 100 publications and over 30 patents in the field of orthopaedics.
