Dr. Francis A. Scott

Dr. Clinkscales is a fellowship-trained, orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon who joined HSA in 1998 after three years of teaching full time at UC Health. After completing a degree in Religion from Davidson College (NC), he earned a medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta (GA). Dr. Clinkscales completed residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (MN) and completed his fellowship training at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis. Honored by 5280 Magazine as one of Denver’s top doctors, Dr. Clinkscales regularly contributes to medical education by delivering presentations, publishing articles and demonstrating cutting-edge techniques in hand and upper extremity care. Dr. Clinkscales has loved being able to raise his family in Colorado. More recently, he has enjoyed embarking on a variety of international medical missions alongside his wife and two sons. Dr. Clinkscales spends his free time traveling, skiing, scuba diving, or just reading especially if it’s with family or friends. Dr. Choudhry provides a full complement of upper extremity/hand care from the shoulder to fingertips. A Colorado native, he graduated from Overland High School in Aurora where he was awarded the Bausch & Lomb Science Award for his “Excellent Promise in the Field of Science.” He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology from the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude. He then attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical School where he received the William Winter MD Award for his “Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery” as a senior medical student. He continued his passion for orthopedics by completing his residency at the University of Cincinnati and affiliated hospitals. As a graduating chief resident he was selected as the recipient of the Peter J. Stern MD award “in recognition for outstanding qualities in professionalism, patient care, and teaching.” He then decided to pursue subspecialty training and completed an Upper extremity/Hand fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina. During fellowship he received the Fellow’s Clinical Science Silver Award by the Wake Forest Division of Surgical Sciences for his research on nerve injuries. Dr. Choudhry has several research endeavors that have been presented at national meetings and published in prestigous scientific journals. Dr. Kovachevich (“Dr. K”) is highly trained in surgery of the hand, elbow, and shoulder with vast knowledge of complex upper extremity conditions. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has completed an added subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand. Dr. Kovachevich has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, and lectures both locally and nationally on upper extremity issues. He maintains membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), the Colorado Orthopedic Society, and Rocky Mountain Hand Society. Dr. Kovachevich also has State of Colorado Workers Compensation level II certification. Dr. Kovachevich specializes in shoulder replacements, shoulder and elbow arthroscopy and reconstruction. He treats fractures of the clavicle, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He specializes in elbow and wrist ligament reconstruction, along with nerve compressions and sport related injuries.
