Dr. McCarthy-Keith earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and also a Master of Public Health in maternal and child health from the University of North Carolina. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at Duke University Medical Center and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. During her fellowship, Dr. McCarthy-Keith’s research focused on the molecular mechanisms of uterine fibroid regulation and reproductive health disparities. She has special interests in male and female infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, uterine fibroids, and in vitro fertilization. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications on reproductive and infertility topics and has presented her research nationally. Prior to joining SGF Atlanta, Dr. McCarthy-Keith practiced general obstetrics and gynecology in Virginia and South Carolina. While in Maryland, she treated patients with reproductive endocrine and fertility disorders at the National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. McCarthy-Keith was a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and held the position of Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Dr. McCarthy-Keith is passionate about her vegan way of life. Dr. Kanter then completed her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. During this time, she also earned a Masters in Translational Research with a research focus on the uterine immune environment and placentation. An ardent researcher, Dr. Kanter has contributed to medical publications focusing on subjects such as monozygotic twinning in IVF, cell biology and roles in early pregnancy establishment and outcomes, and the uterine immune environment in addition to writing book chapters detailing infertility and ectopic pregnancies. She has also traveled across the country presenting topics including in vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic testing, enhanced embryo implantation, and age-based counseling for fertility treatment. Dr. Kanter is a member of professional organizations such as the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Libby has received several honors, including the Award for Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center; a Distinction in Medical Education from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio; and was acknowledged as an American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) 2018 Prize Paper Candidate. She has presented her research on in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes in fertile, sterilized patients at several national meetings. An advocate in the reproductive endocrinology field, Dr. Libby has held a variety of leadership roles with the American Medical Student Association, American Medical Women’s Association, and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Libby’s roots are in Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated from Woodward Academy. She enjoys tennis, biking, cooking, and dancing. She speaks Spanish fluently and loves traveling. Sharing in her passion for reproductive medicine, her father and two brothers are urologists.
