Richard A. Krasuski

Overview

Dr. Richard Krasuski is Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Center at Duke University Medical Center, the Director of Hemodynamic Research, and the Medical Director of the CTEPH Program. He is also Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Duke, a staff member of the Duke Heart Physicians Group and Director of the Duke University Collaborative Cardiovascular Society. He is certified by the ABIM as Diplomate in ACHD, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. Dr. Krasuski received his medical degree from Harvard and completed a residency in internal medicine at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and a cardiology fellowship at Duke. He then served in the US Air Force, where he was Researcher of the Year in 2004 and the youngest finalist ever for the Gold Headed Cane Award for academic, clinical and research excellence in 2005. At the Cleveland Clinic in 2013 he received the Bruce Hubbard Stewart Award “in recognition of the ability to combine sensitivity and compassion with knowledge and skill in the practice of medicine.” In fall of 2015 he returned to Duke to join their faculty. He currently serves on editorials boards/is a reviewer for >20 leading medical publications and has authored or co-authored >350 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters related to his specialty interests. He is the current chair of the Medical Advisory Board of the Adult Congenital Heart Association and has been an invited professor or lecturer at over 100 major medical centers worldwide.
