Overview
Dr. Adam Bender is a general neurologist with a special interest in nerve and muscle diseases. He holds certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and treats patients in the greater New York area. His goal is to provide his patients with neurological conditions a thoughtful and thorough evaluation, resulting in the best of care. For his undergraduate degree, Dr. Bender attended Columbia College. He pursued his medical degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by residency training in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York and in internal medicine at Harlem Hospital. At the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Bender served as Clinical Associate, completing fellowship training in diseases of the nerves and muscles and acting as an original researcher in the modern treatment of myasthenia gravis. This previously devastating disease is now very treatable, and Dr. Bender received the Teacher-Investigator Award for his research.

Dr. Bender provides care for conditions including Parkinson s disease, dementia, weakness, palsy, seizures, dizziness, headache, and tumors of the brain and spinal cord.
