
Overview
Dr. Alexandra Zeitany grew up in Denton, North Carolina and is no stranger to the Triad. She earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Wake Forest University, where she graduated as both valedictorian and captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. Dr. Zeitany received her Doctor of Medicine with Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement from the American Medical Women’s Association as well as the Harold C. Pillsbury Student Research Award.
After medical school, Dr. Zeitany completed a year-long internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan before returning to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her dermatology residency. As a resident, she served as chair of the resident cosmetic curriculum. Passionate about the role of social media in educating patients, Dr. Zeitany was recently selected for the inaugural Social Media Ambassador Team for the American Academy of Dermatology.
Dr. Zeitany and her husband, Peter, are thrilled to once again call Winston-Salem home. (Peter is a fellow Demon Deacon and former Wake football player.) Their family includes their sons Liam and Thor. At home they love gardening, taking long walks in the neighborhood, and attending Wake Forest sporting events.
