
Overview
Tracy Beth Høeg, MD, PhD, is a native of Wisconsin and a Danish-American double citizen. She received her BA in French and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She received her MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following Transitional Year Internship at Gundersen Lutheran in Wisconsin, she and her husband moved to Denmark for seven years, where she worked in Ophthalmology and received her PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health from University of Copenhagen. She then completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UC Davis, where she was Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Interventional Sports, Spine and Regenerative Medicine in Napa, California.Dr. Høeg is highly qualified to treat disorders and injuries of musculoskeletal system such as tendon, joint, cartilage and bone as well as disorders of the spine which can cause neck, back and sciatica pain. Additionally, she is highly qualified to diagnose conditions of the peripheral nervous system and musculoskeletal system using EMG/NCS and diagnostic ultrasound.Dr. Høeg has a special interest in harnessing the body's ability to heal itself through exercise and movement as well as by stimulating the body's ability to heal itself through orthobiologic medicine such as platelet rich plasma, proliferative therapy such as dextrose as well as bone marrow aspirate concentrate.She is an avid runner, has run on the American Team in the World Championships in Ultramarathon running and on the Danish team in the World Championships in Mountain Running. She has led a number of research studies and is part of ongoing research with Stanford at the Western States 100 Mile Run. She works as a scientific journalist for Ultrarunning Magazine as well as a peer-reviewer for numerous scientific journals. She continues to teach as Voluntary Assistant Professor at UC Davis and is married to Rasmus, an assistant professor of Hematology at UC Davis. They have four children: Natali, Andreas, Christian and Mattias.Her hobbies include running, cycling, swimming, playing soccer, photography, journalism and music.Tracy Hoeg is committed to excellence by pledging to provide the highest quality of orthopaedic care possible.
