Being a hepatologist allows me to form long term relationships and work together with patients and families to make a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I am particularly interested in liver transplantation as well as the care of patients with autoimmune and cholestatic liver disease including primary biliary cirrhosis and primary sclerosing cholangitis. Liver disease is a disease that’s stigmatized. Many people are embarrassed to say they have liver disease, and that’s because liver disease is associated with alcoholism or drug abuse.
