Jacqueline Kreutzer, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is co-director of the Heart Institute at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and holds the Peter and Ada Rossin Endowed Chair in Pediatric Cardiology. She is also a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and division director of cardiology. A native of Argentina, she received her medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires Medical School. She  completed a clinical fellowship in cardiac pathology at Harvard Medical School-Boston Children's Hospital and an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida Affiliated Hospitals. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Harvard Medical School-Boston Children's Hospital. Dr. Kreutzer came to Pittsburgh from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Her main areas of academic interest include novel catheter/device technology, animal testing and clinical trials, prenatal cardiac catheter intervention, single ventricle variants, transcatheter therapies, transcatheter management of peripheral pulmonary artery stenosis, cardiac catheterization outcomes research and quality improvement, and transcatheter valve therapies. In addition to her clinical duties as leader of interventional cardiology at the Children’s Heart Institute, she has a strong academic and teaching record. She has authored more than 60 scientific publications and has served as guest reviewer for several journals, including Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, American Journal of Cardiology, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, among others. She has taught extensively internally, nationally, and internationally. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention and has served as active member of numerous societies, committees, and boards such as the American Board of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology NCDR IMPACT Registry, and the American Heart Association CDVY Committee on Congenital Cardiac Defects.
