
Overview
As a fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society, Dr. Upadhyay specializes in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, using the latest techniques to ease patients’ pain and improve spinal function. Dr. Upadhyay received his medical degree from the Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, India, where he also completed a residency in orthopedic surgery. He also trained at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland, before relocating to Chicago, Illinois, for an additional orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Illinois. He completed his advanced education at the University of Louisville, with fellowship training in spinal surgery at the renowned Norton Leatherman Spine and Norton Children’s in Louisville, Kentucky. He has trained with orthopedic and neurosurgeons at Oxford University Hospitals and King’s College Hospital in London. Dr. Upadhyay has authored book chapters, published numerous articles in scientific journals, and lectured nationally and internationally. Dr. Upadhyay loves connecting with people and serving the local community. He welcomes new and current patients needing relief from back and neck pain. He provides personalized and dedicated care to each person, treating them with the same care and concern he shows for family members.
