Overview
Dr. Kristin Redmond specializes in the treatment of brain tumors and leads the spinal radiosurgery program. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University where she graduated magna cum laude with a focus in neuro-psychology. She attended medical school and obtained a Masters in Public Health in health systems management at Tulane University where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society as well as the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. Dr. Redmonds research interest focuses on the development of novel radiation techniques and therapeutic agents to treat brain and spine tumors in order to increase tumor control and overall survival. In addition, she is working to develop innovative approaches to try to limit long term toxicities and minimize neuro-cognitive dysfunction following treatment for tumors of the central nervous system. Dr. Redmond believes in a holistic approach to medicine and feels that the social and psychological components of patient care are equally important to traditional therapies.
