Overview
Dr. Sriwattanakomen specializes in heart failure, transplantation cardiology, cardiogenic shock, and mechanical circulatory support. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine before completing a residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Mass. and a fellowship at UPMC. Following training, he served as an advanced heart failure attending at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School for four years prior to returning to Pittsburgh. Dr. Sriwattanakomen is heavily involved in medical education and has won multiple teaching awards. His research interests include desensitization and rejection management in heart transplantation and management of cardiogenic shock.
