Comparison of Hemodynamic Performance of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement With Supra-Annular Self-Expanding Versus Balloon-Expandable Valves Assessed by Exercise Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance
Summary: The hypothesis is that SEV result in superior valvular hemodynamics (more pronounced during exercise) and exercise capacity relative to BEV. Furthermore, the hypothesis is that stress CMR will be able to demonstrate differences in these hemodynamic parameters. CMR will also provide refined assessment of paravalvular leak and its impact on ventricular function and on clinical outcomes.
The PROGRESS Trial: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial to Assess the Management of Moderate Aortic Stenosis by Clinical Surveillance or Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement
Summary: This study objective is to establish the safety and effectiveness of the Edwards SAPIEN 3 / SAPIEN 3 Ultra / SAPIEN 3 Ultra RESILIA Transcatheter Heart Valve systems in subjects with moderate, calcific aortic stenosis. Following completion of enrollment, subjects will be eligible for enrollment in the continued access phase of the trial.
A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-controlled Trial to Evaluate Efficacy and Safety of a Novel Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitor, Enavogliflozin Compared to Placebo on Reducing Major Cardiovascular Events or Worsening Heart Failure in Patients With Severe Aortic Stenosis Who Underwent Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and With Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF)
Summary: The goal of this trial is to to determine whether use of a novel SGLT2 inhibitor, Enavogliflozin 0.3 mg once daily is superior to placebo, when added to standard-of-care, in reducing the composite of major cardiovascular events and Heart Failure events (hospitalization for Heart Failure or urgent Heart Failure visit) among patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement for severe ao...
Prospective Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial Evaluating the Benefit of Left Bundle Branch Area Stimulation Compared With Conventional Pacing in Post-TAVI Atrioventricular Atrioventricular Block
Summary: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has rapidly expanded over the past decade as a treatment for severe aortic valve stenosis, with over 14,000 procedures performed in France in 2021. A common complication following TAVI is traumatic atrioventricular block requiring pacemaker implantation, occurring in about 10% of patients. Conventional right ventricular pacing in these cases often lea...
Cohort Observing Mechanisms, Progression and Sequelae of Valvular Heart Disease (VALVE-COMPASS)
Summary: The objective of this study is to evaluate and predict the progression of moderate cardiac valve stenosis and regurgitation using clinical, biological, echocardiographic, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. Additionally, the study aims to analyze the potential impact of device-based interventions, pharmacological therapy, and lifestyle modifications on disease prog...
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: Comparison of the Effects of Ultrasound-Guided Pericapsular Nerve Group Block and Fascia Iliaca Block on Postoperative Analgesia Management - A Randomized, Prospective Study
Summary: Aortic Stenosis (AS) is the most common valvular pathology, particularly prevalent in advanced age, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) has become a crucial treatment option for high-risk patients who are not suitable for surgery. This minimally invasive approach has demonstrated successful clinical outcomes in patients deemed ineligible for surgical procedures. Patient selection cr...
Impact of Beta-blocker Administration on Outcome Among Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement B-TAVR
Summary: This is a multi-centric, open-label, randomized trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of temporary discontinuation of beta-blocker treatment in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
A Prospective Cohort Study of Bicuspid Case Selection and Valve Sizing Using the ABC Bicuspid Sizing Algorithm for Sapien 3 Balloon Expandable Valve
Summary: The goal of this study is to learn what effects the ABC Bicuspid Sizing Algorithm has on the clinical outcomes of patients with bicuspid aortic stenosis after having a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) using the Sapien 3 valve. The main questions the study aims to answer are: 1. Does the ABC Bicuspid Sizing Algorithm increase the technical success at exit from the procedure room? 2. Do...
Routine Versus Selective Protamine Administration to Reduce Bleeding Complications After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation
Summary: Heparin reversal by protamine administration after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) may reduce bleeding events. However, protamine can also cause life-threatening allergic reactions. High-quality evidence regarding the clinical safety and efficacy of routine protamine administration after TAVI is lacking. The aim of this clinical trial is to determine if routine protamine administrat...
Identifying Biological Markers of Cardiovascular Events in Patients With Aortic Stenosis or TAVI
Summary: Aortic stenosis, a common cardiovascular disease, is pathophysiologically associated with a chronic inflammatory myocardial reaction and fibrosis leading to cardiac dysfunction and impaired coronary perfusion. These elements may precede the onset of symptoms. The assessment of inflammatory and fibrosis factors (in particular by means of biomarkers) in patients with aortic stenosis will make it pos...
Navitor Japan Post-Market Study
Summary: The Navitor Japan Study is designed to evaluate the safety and performance of the Navitor™ valve used in combination with the FlexNav™ delivery system in a contemporary, real-world setting.
Prospective, Multi-centre Clinical Investigation Evaluating the Outcomes of Patients Treated by Redo Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation for Bioprosthetic Valve Failure of a Transcatheter Aortic Valve
Summary: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a key-hole technique to replace an aortic heart valve that is narrowed and/or leaking. Although TAVI is a safe and effective treatment for a faulty aortic heart valve, the new TAVI valve will not last forever. Because it is a 'tissue' valve (made from the lining of a cow or pig heart), the valve will fail after a period of time as the tissue degene...
